Welcome Week Terms & Conditions for Library Competitions

As part of Welcome week, an introduction to the library and as a huge welcome to all the new students joining CCCU, the library will be running two competitions. The Library & Learning Resources ‘Name the library bear’ and ‘self-guided tour’ competitions are open to all students of Canterbury Christ Church University.

‘Name the library bear’ competition

The user experience team will be giving away five Christ Church branded teddy bears. A winner will be selected at random, from each day’s entries. The competition will run from the 19th September 2022 to the 23rd September 2022. Students can enter the competition via our Library and Learning Resources desk in the marquee by Verena Holmes.

‘Self-guided tour’ competition

The user experience team will be giving away ten £10 CCCU bookshop vouchers. A winner will be selected at random. The competition will run from the 19th September 2022 to the 23rd September 2022. Students can enter the competition via our Library and Learning Resources desk in Augustine House.

Terms and Conditions

1.Library and Learning Resources will announce the winner by Friday 30th September 2022 and will contact the winner by university email.

2.A cash alternative cannot be substituted for the prize. The prize must be taken as stated and cannot be changed.

3.By entering the competition, you agree to allow your entry, and name, to be used by Library and learning Resources for online and print marketing purposes and agree to the terms and conditions.

4.The decision by Library and Learning Resources is final and no correspondence will be entered into in relation to the competition.

5.Library and Learning Resources will make all reasonable effort to contact the winner. The winner will have one month after the date of the announcement to collect the prize.

6.The prize will be made available for collection from Library and Learning Resources.

7.Library and Learning Resources will not take any responsibility for prizes which are lost or stolen.

8.Library and Learning Resources will only use and store your personal information for the purposes of the competition. No additional information provided by you for the purposes of competition entry (e.g. age, address etc.) will be shared by Library and Learning Resources.

9.If you are under 16 years of age, you must obtain the written permission of your parent, carer or guardian before entering the competition.

10.Entrants must enter the competition in their own legal name. Library and Learning Resources will require the winner to provide their student identity card on collection of the prize. In the event that a winner cannot provide suitable proof of identity when requested, that winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered.

11.The competition is not open to employees of Canterbury Christ Church University, or contractors of the University, or any person directly or indirectly involved in the organization or running of the competition, or their immediate family members.

12.Library and Learning Resources reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry or entrant which, in the opinion of the University, is not in accordance with these Terms & Conditions or who has, in the opinion of the University, engaged in conduct in entering the competition, which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of Canterbury Christ Church University. Library and Learning Resources reserve the right to disqualify a winner if Library and Learning Resources becomes aware that the winner and/or the winner’s entry are of a type described in these terms and conditions.

13.Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these rules and to agree to be bound by them when entering this competition.

14.Canterbury Christ Church University reserves at its absolute discretion the right to cancel the competition at any stage, if deemed necessary in the University’s opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of the University’s control.

15.These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
