UPDATE: In response to the further measures the government laid out yesterday afternoon in response to Covid-19 / Coronavirus we have cancelled this event.

You can keep up to date with the University’s Coronavirus advice on the University website.

The Library is always looking at ways to improve things for you and so we’re holding an informal feedback session on Tuesday 17th March between 12pm & 2pm on the ground floor of Augustine House where you can meet some of the team and tell us what you think of the library! Good or bad! We want you to help us improve! We’ve called this event #ShapeOurLibrary and would love to see you there! As a thank you there will be snacks provided!

You are welcome to drop by have a chat and give us your thoughts on what is and what isn’t working well for you. We would also love to hear your ideas on how you think we can make things better!

It doesn’t matter what you would like to talk about – whether it’s about the resources, borrowing, support, the space or the facilities – we want to get your opinions on all of it. You may have one issue that if resolved could make all the difference to you and others or it might just be a number of smaller things that could make using the library easier for you. So take this chance to have your say, your feedback is really important to us.

If you would like to take part but cannot make it on the day, why not leave us a comment below.

Not sure if it will make a difference?

At previous events, students said this:-

“2nd floor is often used for other events, there is nowhere else I can go with a laptop. We need more spaces where we can bring our own laptops”.
We’ve added an extra 30 desks within the quiet zone for those that requested more desks without PC’s on them and we’ve also added a new group study pod on the ground floor of Augustine House.

“I wish we had classes about referencing. More academic workshops”
We’ve started a complete redesign of the “Student Learning Development and Research” page on Blackboard to make it easier to find tools to support your studies. From the same place you can now use our automated booking system to arrange a 1:1 with your Learning Developer for help with anything from finding and evaluating resources to referencing.

“Can we have more whiteboards?”
We have added whiteboards to the group study rooms to assist with your studies and presentations.

“Can we have laptops to take away on loan”
You can now borrow an iBorrow laptop to be used away from the University for a 24 hour period. So if you don’t have a laptop but prefer working from the comfort of your own home, or if your own laptop malfunctions but you need to get that essay done, you can borrow one from us! Simply ask for one of the laptops from the Library Point in Augustine House during staffed hours. What will you ask for this year?
