The Queen will celebrate her Platinum Jubilee this year, marking 70 years since she ascended to the throne. The 2 and 3 June are national bank holidays, but we appreciate some of you may need to study rather than street party. Augustine House will be open throughout the Jubilee weekend but there will be changes to our opening hours, services and borrowing over the four days. Read on to find out more.

Borrowing

You won’t need to return any items on the two bank holidays. Any items that would be due on the 2 or 3 June will be automatically extended to the 4 June.

Augustine House

Augustine House remains open until 1:00am each night. The building and our service points will be open as follows:

Due to the reduced staffing please be aware that some activities, such as external access membership applications, fine appeals, suggest an e-book requests etc. will not be processed until Monday 6 June.

Drill Hall Library

To mark the celebration of Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee The Drill Hall Library will close at midnight on Wednesday 1st June. The library will be open over the Bank Holiday weekend with reduced hours, limited IT and library support. Study spaces, printers, scanners and access to books will be available. We will not be able to process external access membership applications.

Salomons Institute Library

Lucy Fildes House, including the Library will be closed from 2 -3 June for the Bank Holidays. The library will reopen on Monday 6 June at 8:00 as normal.
