The Engineering Foundation Year included 40 students which reflects our commitment to widening participation in higher education. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With 52 students, where 33% are female and 29% BAME, the\nuniversity recognises their responsibility to ensure a fair and rewarding\neducation for all and the need to provide real opportunities to enable\ngraduates to enter the workplace as professionals. This requires collaboration\nwith local industry who are currently facing skills shortages in Engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EDGE Hub is ensuring that the university and its curriculum\naligns with the needs of regional industries, and their specific requirements,\nby co-designing courses and working in partnership on key challenges through\nincubator projects, and research and consultancy services.
