{"id":2074,"date":"2017-05-12T10:35:39","date_gmt":"2017-05-12T09:35:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.canterbury.ac.uk\/discursive\/?p=2074"},"modified":"2017-10-11T11:52:53","modified_gmt":"2017-10-11T10:52:53","slug":"anne-cooke-presented-with-the-british-psychological-society-practitioner-of-the-year-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.canterbury.ac.uk\/discursive\/anne-cooke-presented-with-the-british-psychological-society-practitioner-of-the-year-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Anne Cooke presented with the British Psychological Society Practitioner of the Year Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\">On Friday 5<sup><span style=\"font-size: small\">th<\/span><\/sup> May Anne Cooke (Principal Lecturer and Joint Clinical Director of the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology) was presented with the British Psychological Society Practitioner of the Year Award by the Society\u2019s President, Professor Peter Kinderman at a special ceremony in Brighton.\u00a0 <\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\">The award recognises Anne\u2019s public facing work to make available good quality information and debate about mental health, and specifically her work to edit and produce the Society\u2019s major public information report \u2018Understanding Psychosis and Schizophrenia\u2019 <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.understandingpsychosis.net\/\">www.understandingpsychosis.net<\/a><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\">. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\">The official announcement states that: <\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\">\u2018Anne has made a significant impact on the knowledge and practice of British clinical psychology.\u00a0 Anne has demonstrated that the best research is inclusive of its participants and intended beneficiaries. \u00a0Anne is passionate about improving the lives of people traditionally excluded from society. She uses her humanity and keen sense of social justice as well as her professional knowledge and skills to improve clinical psychology itself as well as improving society as a whole.
