Perceptual and memorial contributions to developmental prosopagnosia. <i>The Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology, 70<\/i>(2), 298-315. https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1080\/17470218.2016.1177101.<\/p>\n\n<p><\/p><p>For a full list of publications see my <a href=\"http:\/\/placeholderstaffprofile.ac.uk\">Staff Profile<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Research Interests:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My current research focuses on the effects of olfaction (sense of smell and taste) on human cognition.&nbsp; The impact of certain fragrances on personal memory recall is widely perceived, and there is growing evidence of its effects on aspects such as stress and happiness, but we have limited knowledge about its effects on many other cognitions such as attention and decision making, and what happens when we lose the ability to smell.&nbsp; There are wide gaps in our knowledge of the psychology of olfaction, making this an exciting and rewarding research area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, I am also interested in studying face recognition and prosopagnosia (i.e. the inability to recognise faces).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Current Research Projects:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am currently working on the following research projects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Multiple research projects investigating the effects of olfaction (sense of smell and taste) on human cognition.&nbsp; These are research projects run with Givaudan, an international organisation.&nbsp;<\/li><li>\u2018Playing Out with the Internet of Things (IoT)\u2019, a multi-site collaboration between Northumbria University, UCL and Canterbury Christ Church University, funded by the EPSRC.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr Philip Ulrich Recent Publications: Dylan, T., Wood, G., Durrant, A.
