I’d recommend getting your scarves and gloves out for this tip, but you’ll soon shed them out when you’re thoroughly warmed up. The heating in our art studios is temperamental at the best of times, so by lunchtime I’m pretty chilly. A 5 minutes walk from the bottom of town to the top got the blood pumping, but first I had to break it to my friend that we would be purchasing ‘to-go’. Thankfully, no moans and groans and we had a stroll through the park and gardens munching away. The leaves are showing a multitude of colours and it was great to kick up leaves everywhere I went.

Day 2 and my lunch time walk is hurriedly walking from one campus building to the other but I found eating before I left meant I wasn’t as tempted to snack and no stitch.

Towards the end of my week I took an evening walk with my partner, which was wonderfully fresh and starlit. When you’re feeling stressed, a good walk can help you work through ideas and give you inspiration which is where this week’s GIF comes from.

A lunchtime walk is a great way to slowly reduce your sedentary lifestyle, and any time away from your desk gives much needed fresh perspective. I’ve recommend having a lunchtime walk at least 3 days a week, try it for a month and it will soon become a habit. During the winter months it can be tempting to curl up indoors but it’s vital to keep active to boost your immune system.

See more ways to boost your immune system this Wednesday (16/11/2016) on our CCCU Move More Twitter or Facebook.

[626
782,878,830,882,886,706,890,894,622,898,834,902,906,477,910,686,914
post-511","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-move-more","tag-active","tag-autumn","tag-bestillless","tag-fall","tag-friends","tag-fun","tag-getactive","tag-gif","tag-health","tag-leaves","tag-movemore","tag-park","tag-shoutoutsaturday","tag-sport","tag-talk","tag-walk","tag-winter
["GET
