Faye Wills, a CCCU Sports Scholar, competing in Clay Shooting for the GB team has recently placed third in the Beretta World Cup, an international ranking across several events.
Between the 31st August to the 7th September, the scholar took home gold in the GB Women’s Team event at the Helice ZZ World Championships. The individual event in the championship also saw Faye share a joint fourth place, just one target behind another British shooter awarded the bronze place.

Earlier that week, Faye also finished joint third in the Sporting Ghedi Cup and joint third in the President’s Cup as well. The results from the individual competition combined with the gold medal she won at the Grand Prix in France earlier in June, meant that Faye gained enough points to place third in the Beretta World Cup standings.
Faye is a standout scholar, coming to the end of her PhD thesis after 5.5 years of working whilst employed as a full-time secondary school History teacher. Her achievements individually and as part of Team GB are incredible, she is a model scholar and talented PhD student, living proof that students at Canterbury Christ Church University on a sporting scholarship can achieve both academic and sporting excellence.
