The Pulse Project in Shepway was led by Aidan Willis, an ex PE & Sport Science Student at CCCU who started working with the Shepway Sports Trust during his third year when he evaluated their work for his dissertation.

Wednesday 13^th April saw the annual StreetGames Awards and Conference, held at Warwick University in Coventry.

It was an exciting and well-attended event, with representatives from around the country coming together to celebrate sporting initiatives from their local communities.

StreetGames promotes Doorstep Sport – that is sport in disadvantaged communities that takes place at the right time, at the right place, in the right style and at the right price.

Shepway Sports Trust were delighted to win in the category of ‘Best Participant Retention Programme’, beating over 500 other Doorstep Sports Clubs to make the shortlist and two other excellent community sessions to scoop the award. The award recognises innovative approaches to maintaining participation at sessions, as well as work done to develop the wider aims of the Doorstep Sport initiative. Pulse is an extremely successful and growing session, taking place across three locations in Shepway; participants are offered a wide range of sports and multimedia activities in a relaxed environment.

London and South East StreetGames Strategic Lead, James Gregory said:
