A Week of Water Walking

Over the last week I have focussed on my hydration. Mainly as I was feeling a little tired in the afternoons and realised that my water intake was lower than it should be.

So, using a 1 litre bottle, I made a decision to drink two litres while at work. Nice and easy, as it’s a litre bottle, just fill it twice…. No…. Half fill the bottle! This way I am encouraged to take those extra steps each morning and afternoon to fill the bottle. This is also an opportunity to have a short discussion with a colleague by the water tap. Alternatively, I should consider a 500ml bottle or even a 250ml bottle to make me Move More!

Initially, I did forget to drink the water. But with a little focus, and perseverance, it was made possible. I am particularly looking forward to the ongoing health benefits from this one little change to my day.

By keeping my mind on the task – PostIt note attached to screen – I have succeeded in getting my water intake up to where it should be during the day, walked extra steps (approximately 300 a day) and most importantly, I feel less tired (primary focal point) as I am hydrated. We all know the benefits of hydration, combined with the other tips here I am looking forward to developing a healthier lifestyle, being more productive and enjoying life that little bit more while losing the extra pounds that I need to shed.
