Reflect and feedback

Think back to when you were choosing your degree subject. How excited did you feel at being presented with an opportunity to choose to study a subject you love in-depth for three years?  

Choosing your dissertation topic presents you with another wonderful opportunity to select an area you would like to delve into even further. How exciting is that?

Your dissertation will form a significant aspect of your workload in year 3, so it is important that you choose a topic you will feel enthusiastic and motivated to research and write about. But please remember, not everyone finishes year 2 with a clear idea of their dissertation topic, so try not to worry. 

Spend some time reflecting on your areas of interest, reading around them, talking about them with friends and colleagues, soon you will start to work towards your dissertation topic and from there, you will develop a question.  ​
