What is a critical review of literature?

Before writing your literature review, you will need to develop your skills at conducting literature searches, using the databases available via LibrarySearch, to ensure you find relevant materials you can use to analyse in your literature review. 

Writing a critical review of literature is one of the basic skills that you need to develop during your post-graduate studies whether as a stand-alone chapter or part of your research project. It is important here to be aware of what makes a literature review ‘critical’ as compared to a descriptive one.
