Discovery Park opened its doors for the East Kent Science Jamboree, hosting a record-breaking 1,500 children from 51 Kent schools for a two-day science spectacular.
This year’s 30th anniversary celebration was the largest ever jamboree and marked a decade of the summit taking place at Sandwich science hub Discovery Park. Led by the STEM Hub at CCCU and supported by Pfizer, primary school children from across Kent engaged directly with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through interactive workshops, demonstrations, and experiments. From forensic investigations and rocket launches to building models of the human eye, the event opened their eyes to the vast range of career paths that STEM can enable, and the crucial role these future innovators will play in advancing health, technology, and beyond.

The Science Jamboree is a collaborative initiative supported by organisations including:
- Pfizer (keep at the top as they are the biggest supporter)
- APS Produce
- Asychem
- Canterbury Christ Church University
- Kent and Medway Medical School
- Network Rail
- National Physical Laboratory
- Resolian
- Royal Engineers Museum
- Southern Water
- Unilabs York Bioanalytical Solutions
This event is a powerful opportunity to make long-term investment in the future and requires crucial industry support.
We are currently looking for partners and sponsors who wish to make a real and sustainable contribution to this endeavour. Your support can enable us to:
- Provide transportation for children from further afield to attend
- Develop additional interactive workshops and educational materials
- Acquire resources and equipment to aid children’s understanding of scientific principles
- Provide each child with a rich, formative experience that helps shape their future path in STEM
If your organisation is interested in exploring a partnership, please get in touch to learn more about how you can make a significant and meaningful contribution.
