On Thursday 4th July, the University hosted the third annual Vice-Chancellor’s Business Games.
The Vice-Chancellor’s Business Games is a light-hearted and inclusive sporting event that brings together industry professionals to compete, network, and unite businesses in the spirit of camaraderie and competition.
Now in its third year, the event attracted a record-breaking 200 participants from various organisations in Kent and the Southeast, a true testament to the event’s growing impact and popularity.
Participants benefitted from:
- Taking part in an away day with colleagues with the added bonus of engaging in spirited competition
- Strengthening team cohesion by forming squads with colleagues and business associates, making this the ultimate team-building experience
- Contributing to a noble cause as all proceeds from the event will be donated to our designated charity, Kent MS Therapy Centre*
There was a variety of sporting activities ranging from thrilling relay races to tug-of-war battles. Teams were involved in games of kinball, volleyball, pickleball and a surprise inflatable obstacle course!
Thanks to CCCU’s ‘STAR clinic’, students studying Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation gave free sports massages throughout the event to participants
Courtesy of Shepherd Neame, the teams enjoyed a well-deserved drinks reception to conclude the day, which provided the opportunity for local businesses to network, collaborate, and build lasting partnerships.
*The Kent MS Therapy Centre offers first class facilities to support people affected by multiple sclerosis and other neurological conditions, as well as their families, friends and those who care for them. On behalf of the whole of Canterbury Christ Church University, we are thrilled to be supporting such a wonderful charity.
“We are delighted to have been selected as the Charity of the Year for the Vice-Chancellor’s Business Games. Our aims and values align closely with the University regarding research, personal development and community which is the heart of our Centre. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to spread the word about the services we offer to those with multiple sclerosis and other neurological conditions. Bring on the competition!”
