Hello everyone,
A very warm welcome to all our new and returning students in the School of Allied Health Professions, Public Health, and Social Work! It’s been wonderful to see so many of you back on campus, wandering around, meeting up with friends old and new, and settling into the new academic year. Whether you’re catching up in Medway or Canterbury, the energy and excitement are contagious!
I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself – I’m Rebecca Sandys, and I’m honoured to be your new Head of School. I’m new to the role and eager to get to know as many of you as possible. Over the coming months, I’ll be dropping into your lectures, workshops, and other sessions to say hello and see how things are going. But please, don’t wait for that—if you see me around campus, whether in Medway or Canterbury, feel free to stop me and say hi. I’d love to hear about your experiences and any thoughts you have about our school!
You are in excellent hands with your course teams – they truly are some of the best your professions have to offer. I encourage you to engage fully with them, ask questions, and make the most of the incredible learning and professional opportunities that lie ahead. Your years here will be foundational to your careers, so take every chance to learn, grow, and collaborate.
We’re all so excited to support you on your journey, and I look forward to meeting you soon!
